Willard D. Hobbs Memorial Scholarship

To provide financial assistance to high school graduates seeking post secondary school training in a vocation or trade. Examples of appropriate fields of study include (but are not limited to) auto mechanics, cosmetology, culinary arts, plumbing or the building trades.

Scholarship award is contingent upon high school graduation and admission to an approved program of study. Applicants are expected to have a GPA of 2.0 or greater, although exceptions may be considered under some circumstances.

Funds may be used for:

  • tuition

  • books

  • required materials such as tools

Funds are not to be used for:

  • room and board

  • travel expenses

  • other non-educational expenses

Recipients agree to provide the Foundation Board of Directors with information such as current address and activities that will allow the Board to assess the effectiveness of the scholarship program.

Recipients will be selected by a committee appointed by the Paradise Area Community Foundation. This selection committee will review applications, transcripts, and may arrange for an interview with the applicant.
